What is

Our main mission is to provide the ultimate compilation of Mediterranean recipes for your pantry.

The recipes follow the 555 approach:
5 ingredients, 5 tools, 5 minutes

If you don’t feel like cooking, Boatfood shall inform you about good restaurants to eat out as well as interesting places, cities and routes in the Mediterranean region.

As space is scarce in boat galleys you will only need 5 kitchen tools such as 5 ingredients or less in order to prepare your Boatfood recipes.

There are some basics which are not part of the ingredient lists and should always be in your pantry.


  • virgin olive oil
  • wine vinegar
  • onions
  • garlic
  • canned tomatoes


  • a pot
  • a large pan
  • a sharp knife
  • a cutting board
  • a grater

Active preparation time (peeling, chopping, grating, etc.) for Boatfood dishes is roughly 5 minutes or less, cooking time is additional and should only require minimal attention with the occasional stir.
