story: Keftedes is a popular Greek main dish that can also be served as an appetizer or mezze.
Keftedes have their origin in the middle east and are often served with tzatziki and pita bread.

Ingredients for 4 persons:

  • 750g of ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • a handful of parsley
  • 2 pieces of stale bread


  • cut the cucumber in 2 halves and remove the inner part
  • grate the cucumber
  • add salt
  • add olive oil
  • add the juice of a lemon
  • add the squashed garlic
  • add the yogurt and mix well
  • serve with black olives and a good drizzle of olive oil



  • be generous with the salt
  • if you do not have stale bread you can use bread crumbs
  • works with ground pork or lamb as well
  • add some mint leaves to the meat
  • serve with tzatziki and pita bread
